Honor Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization.   Staffed 99% by caring volunteers, we provide rescued dogs and cats with a safe NO-KILL sheltered environment while they wait to be adopted into their very own forever homes.

Our Mission:
To assure compassionate and humane treatment of all animals in our community; to help animals and owners in need of our assistance; to speak for animals with love, compassion and justice. To honor our animals and those who take care of them.


There are a number of ways animal lovers like yourself can help Honor thrive.  Here are some suggestions:

  • Donate.

    See our Wish List for more ideas.  All donations are 100% tax deductible.

  • Adopt.
    • Visit the animals at Nate’s Place  Adoption Center, 8435 Cooper Creek Blvd. in the Cooper Creek Shopping Center. (West of I-75, south off University)
      • Open to the public Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 4 pm.
    • Stop in the neighborhood PETCO at 131 North Cattleman Road (West of I-75, north off University) and say hello to the Honor pets shown there.
      • Specially selected highly adoptable dogs and cats are featured every Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 4 pm.  During these hours, skilled Honor adoption counselors and animal handlers are available to assist you.
    • Visit the animals at our newest location, 4951 Lorraine Road, Bradenton. (Just north of State Rd. 70)
      • Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
      • Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
      • Dog and cats adoptions also by appointment; call 941-302-0933
    • Foster.
      • Provide temporary shelter in your home to a dog or cat in need of special care.
